Nelsonville is located at the junction of Texas State Highway 159 (SH 159) and Farm to Market Road 2502 (FM 2502) between Bellville and Industry. The town was first settled in the 1850s and attracted a number of Czech immigrants. ==History== Nelsonville was settled in the 1850s; it was named for D. D. Nelson, who opened a store in the community after the Civil War ended. The town's first settlers were primarily Bohemian immigrants. Nelsonville's post office opened in 1872; postmaster R. W. Thompson also served as the town physician. The post office closed in 1909.
